Care Instructions for Microneedling with PRF / Salmon DNA
Pre-Care Instructions
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: This treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing. Ask us about safe alternatives.
Cold Sores: If you’ve had oral herpes (cold sores), please inform us ahead of time. An antiviral prescription may be recommended to prevent a breakout.
Sunburns: Treatment cannot be performed on sunburnt skin. Avoid direct sun exposure in the days leading up to your appointment.
No Spray Tans: Avoid spray tans or self-tanners for at least 10 days before your session.
Discontinue Skin Products (3 days prior):
Retinol / Tretinoin (Retin-A)
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs)
Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), including salicylic acid
Hydroquinone
These ingredients can increase sensitivity and risk irritation.
Clean Skin: Please arrive with a freshly cleansed face—no makeup, moisturizer, sunscreen, or perfume.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water prior to your appointment.
After-Care Instructions
First 24 Hours – Water Cleanse Only: Rinse with cool water only. No cleansers or products. Gently pat dry.
Skincare:
Day 1: Avoid all products including sunscreen and serums.
Days 2–4: Use only a mild cleanser and light moisturizer. No active ingredients or exfoliants.
After Day 3: Resume your usual skincare slowly when the skin is healed.
Avoid for 72 Hours:
Makeup: Wait to reduce risk of irritation or infection.
Heat Exposure: Avoid saunas, hot tubs, and pools.
Shaving: Men should skip shaving for 72 hours post-treatment.
No Picking or Scratching: If light flaking or peeling occurs, allow skin to shed naturally to avoid scarring.
Avoid Exercise for 48 Hours: Skip the gym to prevent sweat and bacteria irritation. Light walking is fine.
Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun for 72 hours. No sunscreen for the first 24 hours; then apply SPF 30+ daily. Avoid tanning for 10 days.
Change Pillowcase: Use a clean pillowcase the night of the procedure to avoid bacterial transfer.
Clean Your Phone: clean your phone screen with alcohol to reduce bacterial contact with your skin.
Pain Relief: If needed, use Tylenol—not aspirin or ibuprofen.
